![]() ![]() | Nelson, Bonnie - Good Nights Make Good MorningsCountry | Colorado | 19771977 LP from Colorado country singer Bonnie Nelson, released on Hop-A-Long Records. Bonnie Nelson is a country singer that was born in Denver, Colorado in April 1949. She started out singing in small clubs and performed on the KLAK radio program "Rocky Mountain Jamboree" for over a year. She has worked with stars such as Ray Price, Webb Pierce, Liz Anderson, Freddie Hart, Susan Raye, Charlie Walker, Rex Allen, Del Reeves, Johnny Western, George Morgan, Johnny Paycheck, and "many, many, more" top artists. She and her singing partner Bob Britton won a Colorado Springs talent contest in 1972 and were invited to perform at the Grand Ole Opry. It was during this trip to Nashville that she was signed to five-year recording contract with United Artists Records. I was able to find three records she released for United Artists, including "Got Me A Feelin" b/w "Lonely Is", "He Sure Knows How To Love" b/w "California", and "Think Like A Woman" b/w "I Can't Say No To Love". Bonnie was also the radio spokeswoman for International Harvester Company. She was known among truckers as "Transtar Rose", a title which is referenced on the cover of this LP. This LP was recorded at Woodland Sound Studios in Nashville with several members of the Nashville A-Team, including Billy Sanford on guitar and Bob Moore on bass, among others. She recorded at least two other LPs and several more singles in the late 1970s that were put out on the private label Hop-A-Long Records. She released a self-titled LP in 1985, also on Squire Records. This LP was followed up with a few more singles on Door Knob Records, two of which broke into the Billboard Country Charts. Bonnie is currently a minister in Nashville, Tennessee. She has released several CDs of religious music in the 21st century.
